Faust Ystueta

Originally from Twin Falls, Idaho, Coach Faust Ystueta brings a wealth of basketball experience and a lifelong passion for the game to The Lab. As a player, he earned multiple accolades, including being a two-time First Team All-Conference selection, two-time All-State Tournament honoree, and one-time All-State Idaho player. He went on to play collegiately at Walla Walla Community College in Walla Walla, Washington.

After completing his playing career, Coach Faust graduated with honors from the University of Idaho, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. In August 2023, he relocated to New Haven, Connecticut, eager to stay connected to the game he loves – and that’s when he found The Lab.

Coaching and Training Experience

Coach Faust’s coaching journey began during his high school years in Idaho, where he started his own training programs for elementary and middle school students. This early experience sparked his passion for helping young players develop their skills and confidence on the court. Since joining The Lab in September 2024, he has continued to share his expertise and enthusiasm, making an immediate impact on the athletes he works with.

Off the Court

When he’s not on the court, Coach Faust enjoys exploring his other passion: food. He’s a self-proclaimed food connoisseur and a proud advocate for New Haven’s legendary pizza scene, especially Modern Apizza.
